About the role
Skechers Australia/New Zealand is seeking a Store Manager for its Queen St location in Auckland. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys running a retail store as if it were their own, with responsibility for business performance, team development, and delivering a strong customer experience. The position sits within a large retail brand known for comfort-focused, fashion-forward footwear and a fast-moving, energetic store environment.
The role works closely with the wider retail leadership team and is expected to help grow the Skechers brand across Australia and New Zealand. It suits a leader who can balance commercial outcomes with coaching, operational discipline, and a positive in-store culture.
Why this opportunity stands out
- Ongoing in-store learning and coaching aligned to your career goals
- Clear progression opportunities toward senior leadership roles
- Performance-linked incentives that recognise strong results and leadership
- Tuesday to Saturday roster with two consecutive days off each week
- 40% staff discount across Accent Group brands, including Skechers, Platypus, Hype DC, HOKA, Dr. Martens, Nude Lucy, and more
What you'll be doing
- Take ownership of overall store performance, including sales, add-on selling, units per transaction, and customer experience
- Lead from the floor by actively engaging with customers and supporting sales conversion
- Build product knowledge across the brand and help customers understand the value of the range
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members through regular hands-on guidance and on-floor leadership
- Create a fun, energetic, and high-performing team culture
- Oversee day-to-day store activities and allocate tasks based on business needs
- Provide weekly feedback on results, wins, and improvement opportunities
- Maintain strong standards in visual merchandising, wage management, shrink control, and stock accuracy
- Ensure store practices follow people-safety policies and procedures
- Manage and support a diverse team across all aspects of store operations
What we're looking for
- Background as a Store Manager or a senior retail leader such as an Assistant Store Manager or Supervisor
- Proven success in improving sales outcomes and team performance
- Confidence to work independently and make sound store decisions
- A growth-oriented mindset and interest in progressing into flagship or senior leadership positions
- Strong coaching ability and a genuine interest in developing others
- Solid operational capability in visual merchandising, stock management, and store presentation
