Software Engineer - Go (Golang) (m/f/d)

Role overview

We are looking for a Software Engineer with deep Go expertise to build and support robust backend systems in Dubai. This position focuses on designing scalable services, improving system reliability, and contributing to architecture decisions across distributed environments.

What you will do

• Build, evolve, and support backend services and APIs in Go.
• Take end-to-end ownership of major parts of the system architecture.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to turn business and technical needs into dependable, high-performance solutions.
• Write code that is clean, maintainable, and covered by tests.
• Improve performance, investigate issues, and help keep distributed systems highly available.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and engineering process improvements.
• Connect backend services with internal tools as well as external platforms.
• Contribute to CI/CD workflows and automation to make releases more reliable.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience working as a Backend Engineer or Software Engineer, with strong practical experience in Go.
• Solid knowledge of backend architecture, distributed systems, and microservices.
• A strong sense of ownership and the ability to deliver in complex technical environments.
• Good analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
• Comfortable reading, writing, and speaking English.

Preferred background

• Experience building products for large-scale consumer platforms, marketplaces, or SaaS environments.
• Exposure to event-driven systems, queues, or streaming tools such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS.
• Hands-on experience with Go profiling, benchmarking, or debugging.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code and DevOps practices.

Location

This role is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is expected to be onsite.
