Site Engineer

Role overview

Walls Construction Limited is seeking a Site Engineer to support the construction management team with day-to-day control of the building works on site in County Kildare, Ireland. The position focuses on accurate setting out, quality assurance, site coordination, and maintaining clear records across all project activities.

Core duties

• Carry out setting out and levelling tasks, and support quality checks, including concrete testing through cube sampling, slump testing, and related inspections.
• Verify shuttering, reinforcement steel, and other dimensions before concrete is poured, and keep materials reconciliation records up to date.
• Maintain detailed documentation of site activity, including site diaries and uploads to the document management system.
• Oversee directly employed staff and subcontractor teams involved in different parts of the construction work.
• Follow all company policies and procedures relating to health and safety, environmental standards, quality control, and site operations.

Requirements

• A relevant engineering qualification is required.
• Applicants should have at least 2 to 3 years of experience working with a building contractor.
• Strong IT ability is essential.
• Hands-on knowledge of surveying instruments and associated equipment is expected.
• Ideal candidates should be self-motivated, able to solve problems, and comfortable working effectively as part of a team.
