Role Overview
This position is with Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Doha, Qatar, and sits within the loss prevention and security function. It is a full-time, non-management role based on site.
Key Duties
The security officer is expected to protect the property, support guests and employees, and respond quickly to safety or security events. The role involves active patrols, monitoring systems, incident handling, and maintaining a safe environment across the site.
- Patrol all areas of the property and help guests access rooms when needed.
- Keep an eye on CCTV, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and the fire/life safety system.
- Lock entrances when the situation calls for it.
- Carry out daily inspections to identify physical hazards.
- Respond to accidents, and provide first aid or CPR when appropriate while contacting emergency medical services.
- Support guests and team members during emergencies.
- Inform the relevant people when accidents, attacks, or other incidents occur.
- Help calm and resolve disturbances involving guests or employees.
- Request outside support when necessary.
- Prepare incident reports for all security and loss-prevention events.
- Address interruptions and complaints professionally.
- Resolve unsafe conditions and help remove unwelcome individuals without disrupting operations.
- Report vehicle accidents and thefts.
- Use the correct code procedures when calling for assistance.
- Prepare the loss prevention shift summary and daily activity report.
- Keep security-related reports and documents confidential and share them only with authorized personnel.
- Carry out investigations, collect evidence, and interview involved parties.

- Move quickly when required, including running, walking, or jogging.
- Read and verify information in different formats, including small print.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and machines visually to identify defects.
- Use computers and/or point-of-sale systems to find and enter work-related information.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 50 pounds without help and over 75 pounds with assistance.
- Use hands for precise movements and handle objects of different sizes and weights.
- Work in narrow, confined, elevated, uneven, slippery, and stair-access areas.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is preferred. No prior related work experience or supervisory experience is required, and no license or certification is specified. Some states may require additional licensing or registration for this role.
