Securities & Derivatives Analyst 1

Role overview

This is an entry-level operations role focused on handling orders and transactions that come from trading desks and branch offices, in partnership with the Operations - Transaction Services team. The main purpose of the position is to support the clearing, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives activity.

Key responsibilities

• Review trade bookings and verify that the instructions entered are correct.
• Create and reconcile trade confirmations using ISDA-standard templates.
• Handle settlement activities and daily revaluation processes with accuracy and within deadlines.
• Route transaction-processing issues to the right internal team and help drive resolution.
• Carry out regulatory checks, reconcile accounts, and maintain records as per established policy.
• Compile and file recurring regulatory reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Take part in scheduled general ledger proofing exercises when required.
• Make sound risk-aware decisions, protect the firm’s reputation, comply with applicable laws and policies, and escalate control concerns clearly and promptly.

Qualifications and background

• Prior relevant experience is preferred.
• A working grasp of treasury products, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements is needed.
• Ability to manage several tasks or projects at once in a demanding, high-risk setting.
• Experience working with macros is required.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills with the ability to keep messages clear and concise.

Education

A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in Business, Accounting, or Finance is required.
