Sales Executive

Role overview

An established and trusted retailer of power tools, hardware, and DIY products in Limerick city is looking for an experienced Sales Executive to join its team. This position is well suited to someone with a background in retail, trade counter, or sales work who wants to grow a long-term career in a specialist environment focused on hardware, tools, and trade supplies.

What the job involves

This is a practical, customer-facing sales position split between the retail floor and the trade counter. You will support both trade clients and walk-in shoppers, helping them choose the right power tools, machinery, fixings, hardware, and DIY items for their projects.

Core duties

• Assist customers at both the trade counter and retail counter.
• Recommend suitable power tools, hand tools, hardware, fixings, and DIY equipment based on customer needs.
• Handle sales transactions, including cash, card, and account payments.
• Respond to trade counter queries in person, over the phone, and by email.
• Keep the counter area tidy, organised, and well supplied.
• Support stock checks, deliveries, and receiving goods into the store.
• Work closely with the wider retail and sales team to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.

Experience and skills needed

The employer is looking for someone with recent customer-facing sales experience, ideally from retail sales, trade counter sales, hardware, tools, or builders’ merchant settings. The ideal candidate should be comfortable developing relationships with tradespeople, have a track record of meeting targets, and bring strong IT and administration ability. Good communication, a customer-first attitude, reliability, organisation, and confidence in a busy retail setting are all important. A willingness to learn product details across power tools and hardware is also essential.

Work pattern and offer

This is a permanent, fully onsite role in Limerick city. Weekend work is part of the schedule. Working hours are Monday to Saturday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, across 5 days each week.

Salary

The expected pay range is €30,000 to €35,000 per year, with room for negotiation for an outstanding candidate.

Because the role is fully onsite in Limerick city, applicants should already be based locally or within a commutable distance.

Eligibility

Only candidates who already have the correct visa or work-permit status to work permanently in Ireland will be considered. Interviews will be conducted in person.
