Company Overview
The employer is a major producer and distributor of advanced plastic packaging products in East Africa. The business is known for prioritizing high standards, environmentally responsible practices, and customer satisfaction. Due to ongoing expansion and a stronger emphasis on product quality, they are looking for an accomplished Quality Assurance Manager to lead the QA function.
Role Summary
This is a key leadership position responsible for directing the Quality Assurance department and making sure robust quality systems, workflows, and standards are applied consistently across all business activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, plan, and drive quality assurance goals and strategies that support overall business objectives.
- Build, refine, and maintain QA policies, procedures, and operating systems to deliver steady product quality.
- Work with the Production team to arrange and evaluate product trials for new designs and materials.
- Oversee the calibration and validation of measurement tools and equipment used in quality control.
- Track QA team performance and ensure output remains aligned with company priorities.
- Provide leadership for staff training and development so the QA team remains capable and compliant.
- Coordinate with regulators and ensure that all raw materials and finished goods satisfy legal and safety obligations.
- Address customer quality complaints through prompt investigation, resolution, and preventive follow-up actions.
- Assist cross-functional teams in sustaining ISO compliance and other applicable quality certifications.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemical and Process Engineering, or Industrial Engineering and Management.
- At least 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or a closely related role within plastics manufacturing or a similar environment.
- Solid knowledge of the plastics sector, including familiarity with both local and international regulatory requirements.
- Strong command of QA practices, quality tools, and continuous improvement methods such as Six Sigma and Lean.

This is a full-time onsite position based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
