Role Summary

The organization is looking for an experienced Purchaser to join the Procurement Department and handle daily procurement support for civil construction projects. This position calls for a practical professional with solid exposure to civil contracting environments who can manage purchasing activities, coordinate with vendors, and help ensure materials arrive on time according to project needs.

Purchasing Operations

• Manage the end-to-end buying process, including RFQs, comparison of quotes, and creation of purchase orders.
• Source civil construction materials, equipment, and subcontracted services based on project demands.
• Make sure all procurement activity matches project specifications and required timelines.

Supplier Coordination

• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive quotations.
• Handle negotiations around pricing, payment terms, and delivery timelines.
• Monitor open orders, follow up for timely supply, and address any delivery delays.

Project Support

• Work closely with site, engineering, and planning teams to clarify material requirements.
• Keep procurement aligned with project execution schedules.
• Assist with urgent site needs and expedited sourcing when fast turnaround is required.

Cost and Commercial Focus

• Review vendor pricing and identify economical sourcing options.
• Support cost control efforts through competitive procurement practices.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain organized records of purchase orders, quotations, and supplier information.
• Track order progress and prepare procurement reports as needed.
• Ensure procurement activities follow internal policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years of experience as a Purchaser in civil contracting companies is mandatory.
• Strong exposure to general contracting, especially civil works.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Proven track record in procuring construction materials and coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Working knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management practices.
