Role Overview
Flywire is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead cross-functional initiatives and deliver business outcomes with strong structure and accountability. The role involves managing a range of project types through a hybrid approach that combines waterfall and agile methods, while keeping delivery aligned with priorities, timelines, and measurable results.
You will work closely with business stakeholders and senior leaders to bring order to complex workstreams, manage execution, and keep multiple teams moving in the same direction. Success in this role requires disciplined delivery, early risk management, and strong coordination across competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and run cross-functional projects end to end using a mix of waterfall and agile delivery practices.
- Convert business objectives into practical project plans with defined milestones, ownership, and measurable outcomes.
- Set up and maintain effective delivery cadences, progress tracking, and governance routines.
- Clarify priorities, accountabilities, and expectations across stakeholders and teams.
- Spot risks, dependencies, and blockers early, then put mitigation actions in place or escalate when needed.
- Adjust the delivery style based on project complexity, stakeholder needs, and business priorities without losing execution quality.
- Keep communication clear and consistent for audiences at different seniority levels.
- Maintain complete project records, status reporting, and visibility across the lifecycle of each initiative.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in delivery processes and PMO ways of working.
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of project management experience in fast-moving or cross-functional settings.
- Hands-on experience delivering a variety of projects using both waterfall and agile methods.
- Strong execution focus with excellent organisation and tracking abilities.
- Ability to create structure and direction in ambiguous or changing workstreams.
- Proactive approach to managing risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
- Comfort working across multiple stakeholders while driving follow-through on agreed actions and deadlines.
- Adaptable working style with the judgement to shift approach based on project needs.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, including interaction with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Professional, thoughtful, and improvement-oriented mindset.
- Capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
Perks and Benefits
- Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
- Opportunity to work with highly skilled colleagues in a dynamic global team.
- Longstanding experience collaborating virtually across regions.
- Wellbeing support, including mental health resources and fitness classes such as yoga, Pilates, and HIIT.
- A chance to contribute meaningfully to the company’s success, with each team member making an impact.
- Competitive time off, including FlyBetter Days for volunteering and Digital Disconnect Days.
- Access to talent and development programmes, including support for current and aspiring managers.
