Role overview
The Product Coordinator role sits within Qatar Airways’ Corporate & Commercial function and focuses on supplier sourcing, product management, pricing support, and commercial coordination. The position is responsible for making sure products are competitively positioned, high in quality, and ready on time to support sales and operational needs for QRH.
Key responsibilities
- Build and manage supplier partnerships in line with the product strategy so that the offering remains competitive, commercially attractive, and strong on service quality and return on investment.
- Keep regular contact with priority suppliers through reviews and planning discussions to align on shared commercial goals and product direction.
- Support delivery of the product plan by maintaining a balanced portfolio across destinations, seasons, and customer groups.
- Track sales results, market movements, and competitor pricing to spot gaps and opportunities, then help implement tactical offers, discounts, and pricing changes, including ORC, to support revenue growth.
- Help improve profitability by contributing to margin optimisation while maintaining market competitiveness.
- Own supplier contracting activities end to end, including supplier setup in Oracle, contract handling, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Review contract changes to ensure they match commercial goals, product needs, and system requirements.
- Spot delays or inefficiencies in the contracting workflow and suggest better ways of working.
- Make sure inventory, rates, and tactical offers are available on time for sales activity, marketing campaigns, and new destination launches.
- Work with internal stakeholders so product readiness matches promotional plans and commercial timelines.
- Follow standard operating procedures covering bookings, financial terms, and supplier obligations.
- Coordinate with system and data teams so product information is loaded accurately and within required timelines.
- Maintain clear reporting on supplier performance, product output, and sales trends to support informed decisions.
- Watch daily sales and demand patterns so strategy can be adjusted for peak periods and changing market conditions.
- Provide practical insights and recommendations to strengthen product performance and competitiveness.
- Keep product knowledge current across the QRH portfolio and supplier offering landscape.
- Support internal teams by delivering product updates, training, and supplier presentations to sales and operations colleagues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, plus at least 3 years of related work experience.
- Hands-on experience with contracts and uploading them into online systems, especially where pricing is involved.
- Ability to prepare costing sheets and carry out basic pricing and benchmarking analysis.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining supplier relationships.
- Previous exposure to travel, tour operations, or product/commercial roles.
- Preferred: experience in product or contracting work, ideally within outbound travel.
- Preferred: basic knowledge of airfares or GDS systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Negotiation ability paired with a commercial mindset.
- Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to manage several priorities at once.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for analysis and reporting.
- Good understanding of destinations and travel products.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure.
- Interest in travel and in delivering high-quality products.
