Role overview
Amazon is looking for a Process Engineer II to support the expansion and improvement of fulfillment operations in Gurgaon, Haryana. The role focuses on turning network strategies and operating standards into practical engineering solutions that improve device fulfillment, value-added services, and reverse logistics within the RAD network. The position combines process improvement, layout and workstation design, quality engineering, and support for new site launches.
The Tech – Supply Chain organization provides global IT infrastructure and end-user equipment support across Amazon’s network. It covers lifecycle management, change control, capital and demand planning, material management, RMA, and liquidation. Within this setup, the Process Engineering team works to improve fulfillment capacity, safety, operational performance, and service reliability by designing scalable systems and workflows.
Key responsibilities

- Apply lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, value stream mapping, and simulation-based capacity analysis to strengthen efficiency and reduce waste.
- Perform time-and-motion studies, workflow reviews, line balancing, productivity modeling, and process mapping to uncover bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Create and roll out standard operating procedures and engineering standards that support consistent, efficient operations.
- Assist with engineering work for RAD expansion and new site launches, including feasibility assessments, labor and capacity modeling, workflow planning, and ergonomic checks.
- Help shape site layouts and material movement strategies that support predictable throughput and controlled operational risk.
- Contribute to ERP and WMS implementation work by validating system and process designs, including interactions between tools, labor, and infrastructure.
- Embed quality engineering methods into process design using tools such as FMEA, control plans, and COPQ analysis to improve reliability.
- Carry out process and product quality audits to identify gaps and support continuous improvement.
- Lead early risk detection, root cause analysis, and engineering controls to reduce repeat failures.
- Help establish and strengthen a Quality Management System to improve outcomes and better meet customer expectations.
Day-to-day work
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional and operational teams in India to build and improve engineering processes. You will design factory layouts, scalable workstations, and material flow systems, assess process constraints, identify improvement opportunities, recommend engineering fixes, and support execution from concept to implementation.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- Hands-on experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing is required.
- Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering is preferred.
