Role overview
The company is hiring a Payroll Clerk who is organized, detail-focused, and comfortable handling payroll activities for a sizable and varied workforce. This position supports accurate payroll processing, payroll-related employee support, and compliance with applicable tax and labour requirements.
Key duties
- Run weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles for a large employee population.
- Keep employee records accurate and up to date for new hires, terminations, and pay adjustments.
- Manage payroll-linked benefits administration, including items such as 401K and health insurance.
- Handle employee questions related to pay and help correct payroll differences when they arise.
- Complete and submit year-end payroll tax filings.
- Monitor local payroll legislation and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
What the employer is looking for
- At least 1 year of payroll administration experience.
- Working knowledge of payroll rules, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience using payroll systems such as Payworks, Paychex, or ADP.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving ability and the capacity to work independently.
- Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills.
Additional information
Compensation will be determined based on experience.
