Role Overview
The Operations Development Partner supports the Operations Development Training function by owning the PM Career Development Program. The role works with project management talent, especially those in PE or APM roles and employees new to CEI, to strengthen capability, build confidence, and support long-term growth.
This is a developmental partnership role focused on coaching, resource guidance, data tracking, and continuous improvement. It is intended to be supportive rather than evaluative, while formal performance reviews remain with people managers.
Reporting Line and Location
The position reports to the Senior Manager, Program Manager, Operations Development. The listed work location is San Jose, CA, with remote work included.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000. The role is eligible for an annual performance bonus. Starting pay may differ depending on market location and factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. What the Role Does
This position is responsible for supporting the PM Career Development Program and helping participants progress along their project management path through regular engagement, targeted development planning, and ongoing support. The role also gathers and analyzes development data, reviews the effectiveness of internal tools, and shares recommendations with leadership and managers.
Core Duties
- Lead the CEI PM Career Development Program for project team members in PE or APM roles and for new hires joining CEI.
- Maintain regular contact with people enrolled in the project management pathway.
- Spot opportunities to improve the program and help implement ongoing enhancements.
- Review current project work with participants to identify strengths and areas that need support.
- Work with PM leaders and participants to define practical development goals and monitor progress.
- Detect knowledge or skill gaps and point participants toward suitable learning resources or actions.
- Serve as a reliable advisor and accountability partner throughout the development process.
- Track how well internal evaluation and individual development planning tools are working.
- Collect, assess, and present development data to Operations Development and PM leadership.
- Offer insights and recommendations that help managers strengthen employee development and engagement.

Clear communication, strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several priorities at once are important for success in this role.
Required Background
Applicants should have a combination of education and experience that provides the needed knowledge, skills, and abilities, along with any required licenses or certifications. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Preferred Experience
Preferred candidates bring at least 5 years of experience in project management, operations, or program management settings. Experience with construction project management methods and exposure to training, learning and development, or talent development programs is also preferred.

Travel and Other Notes
