About the company

Grip is building modern cold-chain logistics for direct-to-consumer eCommerce brands. Established in 2022 by former ButcherBox leaders, the company blends software and a nationwide fulfillment network to improve the shipping of temperature-sensitive products. Its Smart Logistics Engine processes more than 25 million data points each day, including weather, carrier performance, and live temperature signals, to guide shipping decisions at the package level. Grip’s Pulse Order Management System provides live inventory visibility, batch traceability, and direct integration with tools such as Shopify. By combining fulfillment, technology, and inventory control in one system, Grip helps brands operate with clearer visibility and fewer third-party tools. With temperature-controlled facilities across the country, Grip can serve over 80% of the U.S. population within 24 hours.

Role overview

This position is for a data-focused Operational Specialist who will be responsible for inventory accuracy across all Grip facilities. The role centers on strengthening inventory standards, auditing workflows across the network, and improving operations from both process and systems perspectives. You will also help redesign inventory SOPs, handle facility-level requests, and work closely with data and technology teams so inventory systems remain dependable and scalable.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of inventory accuracy across every facility by applying strong handling, reconciliation, and discrepancy-resolution practices.
  • Ensure FIFO discipline and oversee inventory held in all locations.
  • Conduct complete facility audits, cycle counts, and physical inventory checks while partnering with teams to identify and close process gaps.
  • Assess audit results, monitor corrective actions, and use findings to improve inventory controls over time.
  • Redesign inventory SOPs, including receiving procedures, to address the root causes of inventory errors and inefficiencies.
  • Build and manage daily monitoring processes from a systems viewpoint, with metrics that measure accuracy, speed, and reliability.
  • Coordinate inventory-related requests across facilities, aligning priorities and timelines with each facility manager.
  • Travel to facilities as needed to perform audits, roll out SOP updates, and support on-site teams.
  • Partner with the data team to verify that system integrations are functioning correctly and that inventory data remains trustworthy.
  • Work with the technology team on the inventory product roadmap by providing operational insights and customer-focused feedback.

Candidate profile

  • A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is required.
  • Prior experience in inventory management is expected.
  • Strong analytical ability and comfort working with dashboards and inventory systems to support decision-making.
  • Good command of English for effective communication and collaboration.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to stay effective in a fast-moving, dynamic work environment.
  • Familiarity with supply chain principles and recognized inventory best practices.
  • Willingness to travel to Grip facilities when required.
