Stellenbeschreibung

Overview

Jhpiego is a global non-profit health organization connected with The Johns Hopkins University. For over five decades, and in more than 155 countries, it has supported efforts to prevent avoidable deaths among women and their families. The organization works with Ministries of Health worldwide in areas such as HIV/AIDS, maternal and newborn health, family planning, health workforce strengthening, cervical cancer prevention, malaria, and IPC/WASH.

In Eswatini, Jhpiego is delivering the Reaching Impact Saturation and Epidemic Control (RISE) project. RISE is a multi-country initiative funded by the U.S. Government that aims to save lives and improve health through integrated, evidence-based solutions to address critical gaps in essential services. The project operates across all levels of the health system to strengthen the HIV/TB response, reduce the spread of dangerous disease outbreaks through Global Health Security programming, and lower preventable illness and death through integrated maternal, newborn, and child health, nutrition, tuberculosis, and malaria services. Since 2019, RISE has supported programs in more than 25 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Role Summary

The MIS Officer will be responsible for supporting the daily rollout and upkeep of interactive dashboards and data visualizations in PowerBI Report Server, enabling self-service analytics, training business users, and maintaining dashboard data lineage records for the RISE Eswatini project. This position reports directly to the Senior M&E Advisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain interactive PowerBI dashboards that meet the needs of program teams, operations staff, and leadership for monitoring and reporting.
  • Use sound visualization practices such as effective color use, layout design, accessibility, and storytelling.
  • Improve dashboard speed and usability by reducing load times and writing efficient DAX queries.
  • Support extraction, processing, and preparation of programme reports according to project and donor reporting deadlines.
  • Run training sessions that help business users create their own basic visualizations and adopt self-service BI approaches.
  • Develop learning resources such as video guides, quick reference sheets, and FAQ documents.
  • Work with regional teams to maintain consistent and accurate use of data products.
  • Redirect routine ad hoc requests toward self-service materials and tools.
  • Lead capacity-building activities for project and partner staff on database administration and data collection applications.
  • Partner with project teams to identify organizational data needs and convert them into practical MIS solutions.
  • Record dashboard documentation including source systems, ETL transformation steps, metric definitions, refresh schedules, and known constraints.
  • Maintain a dashboard catalogue that is accessible to all users.
  • Keep lineage records updated whenever source data or transformations change.
  • Carry out regular data quality checks to confirm accuracy, completeness, and integrity across the data architecture.
  • Escalate data quality concerns to the Senior M&E Advisor.
  • Perform other MIS-related duties as assigned by the Senior M&E Advisor.
