Role Overview

This field-based position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, meeting customers, and spending time outdoors. As a Meter Reader, you will help make sure water bills are accurate and customers receive a dependable service.

Working Arrangement

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit customer properties across the region and take accurate readings from water meters.
  • Finish all allocated meter-reading routes within each month to meet Guaranteed Standards Scheme (GSS) obligations.
  • Record meter information correctly and keep company systems updated.
  • Interact with customers in a courteous, professional way and respond to general queries.
  • Spot and escalate unusual usage trends, possible leaks, and any defective or damaged meters.
  • Identify vulnerable customers when necessary and provide appropriate support.
  • Act as a positive representative of South Staffs Water and Cambridge Water.
  • Manage daily workloads efficiently while maintaining accuracy and strong customer service.

Requirements
