MEP Manager

Role overview

The MEP Manager will lead the upkeep and service delivery of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems across major operational properties and infrastructure. This position is focused on maintaining dependable, safe, and high-performing critical building systems in a demanding 24/7 environment.

The role requires close coordination with contractors, planning asset lifecycle approaches, and making sure all engineering work follows the required technical and safety standards while keeping essential operations running smoothly.

Core responsibilities

• Direct the daily execution of MEP and HVAC maintenance services across active facilities and infrastructure.
• Safeguard the reliability and availability of essential systems such as power distribution, HVAC, and building services.
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance plans in line with lifecycle-based asset strategies.
• Schedule and coordinate maintenance work so that disruption in live operational settings is kept to a minimum.
• Monitor the work of MEP contractors and external service providers.
• Check that vendors comply with contractual commitments, service level expectations, and safety obligations.
• Assess technical documents, drawings, and system records submitted by contractors.
• Track supplier performance and drive improvement actions where needed.
• Maintain compliance with engineering standards, safety rules, and site operating procedures.
• Assist with testing and commissioning of newly installed or upgraded MEP systems.
• Review design proposals and provide technical input for maintenance planning.
• Ensure asset management and quality requirements are consistently followed.
• Observe the performance of mechanical and electrical systems that support mission-critical infrastructure.
• Apply reliability engineering and maintenance optimisation methods to improve system performance.
• Work with operational teams to keep infrastructure supporting uninterrupted day-to-day operations.

Qualifications and experience

A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Building Services Engineering is required.

• 7 to 10 years of experience in MEP operations or facilities management.
• At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Prior exposure to large, complex, and operationally sensitive environments such as major infrastructure, mixed-use properties, or high-traffic assets is preferred.
