The Letterkenny facility is looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Technician / Engineer to join the team. In this role, you will report to the Facilities Supervisor and help keep production equipment dependable, efficient, and safe while reducing downtime and contributing to ongoing improvements across the site.

Key responsibilities
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities and scheduled PPM work.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems.
- Investigate recurring faults and carry out root cause analysis to prevent repeat issues.
- Contribute to improvement initiatives that strengthen equipment reliability and output.
- Keep maintenance logs, service records, and calibration files accurate and up to date.
- Work with original equipment manufacturers and outside specialists when needed.
- Help drive TPM and 5S practices within the facility.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and support production teams in keeping stoppages to a minimum.
- Ensure all work follows relevant health, safety, environmental, and statutory requirements, including PUWER and LOLER.
- Oversee spare parts stock and maintain technical documentation.
- Guide operators on routine checks and basic equipment care.
Experience and qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- NFQ Level 5 qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent credential.
- Good troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis capability.
- Comfortable working on your own as well as collaboratively within a team.
- A flexible, proactive, and practical approach to problem-solving.
- Experience with CNC machines, automated production equipment, punch machines, or press brake machinery is an advantage.
- Familiarity with TPM, PPM systems, and CMMS tools is beneficial.
- Ability to understand technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Competence with IT tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
