Role overview

Total Transload Services is hiring a Remote Yard Operations Manager to support day-to-day rail and transload activities from a remote setup. The role is centered on collecting operational data, observing yard movement patterns, and turning that information into clear updates that help the onsite Yard Manager make timely decisions.

This position suits someone with strong coordination and analytical abilities who can translate live operational details into practical reports and visibility for the wider operations team.

Responsibilities

• Keep track of daily railcar arrivals, departures, loading, and unloading work.
• Monitor yard inventory, railcar condition/status, and transloading output.
• Build daily operational summaries and reports for the onsite Yard Manager.
• Spot delays, process slowdowns, and potential bottlenecks before they escalate.
• Record truck movements, silo usage, and general yard activity with accuracy.
• Work remotely with yard personnel, dispatch teams, and operations leaders.
• Update operational dashboards and reporting tools to maintain clear visibility into yard performance.

Requirements

• A graduate or engineer qualification in Mechanical or a related discipline is required; exposure to Six Sigma or process flow training is an added advantage.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in logistics, yard operations, rail operations, or dispatch coordination.
• Comfortable working with Excel and preparing operational reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication, along with good organizational skills.
• Prior exposure to railcar tracking, freight logistics, or transloading operations will be considered a plus.
• Must be able to work independently while supporting field teams from a remote location.
