Position Summary
This role oversees finished-goods warehouse activity at designated third-party logistics (3PL) sites. The manager is accountable for service performance to both internal teams and external customers, and acts as the main point of contact with 3PL partners at the assigned location(s).
Key Responsibilities
- Direct refrigerated warehouse operations at 3PL locations, including building and updating SOPs and policies, approving credits and debits, and ensuring product is handled safely in line with GFSI and company requirements.
- Confirm that goods are packaged, labeled, barcoded, and configured correctly for storage and movement, while also monitoring overages, shortages, and damages.
- Plan warehouse coverage for regular business days and holidays, and adjust schedules to reduce unnecessary overtime.
- Monitor and report KPS performance metrics for each site along with 3PL billing and invoicing.
- Oversee inventory accuracy by reconciling general ledger, warehouse, and 3PL records, and work with Demand Planning and Product Management on orders and product rotation.
- Support SAP implementation and ongoing use in partnership with the IT team.
- Act as the local warehouse lead for product holds, releases, withdrawals, and recalls, and coordinate related analysis with Quality Assurance.
- Manage direct team members through hiring support, retention efforts, training, performance reviews, development planning, and coaching.
- Take on additional duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of warehouse management experience.
- At least 5 years of vendor management experience.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office tools, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Working knowledge of inventory platforms such as SAP and AS400, plus familiarity with warehouse and transportation EDI transactions.
- Understanding of GS1 standards used in the food sector.
- Knowledge of USDA and FDA food distribution rules, including FSMA.
- Highly organized, able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Clear communicator who can explain technical topics to non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.
- Able to stay accurate and effective under pressure, maintain professionalism, and work well both independently and with teams.
- Capable of interpreting profit and loss statements, blueprints, and production reports.
- Comfortable with travel up to 20% of the time, including overnight trips of up to 5 days.
- Physically able to meet job demands, including repetitive hand use, standing, walking, reaching, occasional stooping/bending/kneeling/crawling, and lifting at least 10 lbs.
- Must be able to work in environments that may include moving machinery, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and noise ranging from office level to loud warehouse/factory conditions.

Working Conditions
This position may require travel of up to 20% of the time, including overnight stays lasting as long as 5 days at a time.
Physical Requirements
The job involves frequent standing and repetitive use of hands and fingers, along with regular walking and reaching overhead. Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and speaking or hearing may also be required. The role requires lifting a minimum of 10 lbs and includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic substances, fumes, airborne particles, and noise levels that can range from normal office conditions to loud warehouse or factory settings.
