Role Summary

This full-time, on-site position in Antigonish, Nova Scotia is focused on keeping assigned spaces clean, organized, and sanitary. The Light Duty Cleaner will carry out routine cleaning tasks and help maintain a professional, welcoming environment for clients and coworkers.

Key Duties

• Carry out everyday cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and wiping down surfaces.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, kitchen areas, and shared/common spaces.
• Collect and remove trash and recycling from designated areas.
• Replenish essential supplies including paper products and soap.
• Perform light window cleaning when needed.
• Spot-clean walls and doors to keep facilities presentable.
• Maintain cleanliness in entrances, hallways, and other traffic areas.
• Follow health, hygiene, and safety procedures while using cleaning products and equipment correctly.
• Identify and report maintenance issues or safety hazards to a supervisor.
• Work independently or with a small team while maintaining a courteous and professional attitude.

Qualifications

• Capable of safely handling light cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disposing of waste.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, including correct and safe use of products and tools.
• Strong eye for detail and a commitment to high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Dependable, on time, and able to follow schedules, instructions, and checklists with limited supervision.
• Good communication skills and a respectful, professional manner with clients and coworkers.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and move light to moderate loads for extended periods.
• Prior experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or cleaning work is helpful but not mandatory; training can be provided.
• Willing to follow workplace safety rules and use personal protective equipment when required.
