Role overview
The Laundry Aide helps keep the facility clean, sanitary, and safe for residents, employees, and visitors. This position supports infection prevention and overall hygiene by carrying out routine cleaning and laundry-related tasks across resident rooms, shared spaces, and staff areas.

Key duties
- Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, common spaces, and other assigned areas on a daily basis while following infection control and housekeeping procedures.
- Gather and discard waste correctly, including medical and hazardous waste, in line with safety requirements.
- Perform floor care tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming to keep all areas well maintained.
- Collect, sort, transport, and deliver linens and personal laundry so items are cleaned and returned promptly.
- Refill housekeeping supplies in resident rooms and bathrooms, including soap, toilet paper, and towels.
- Spot maintenance issues such as damaged fixtures, malfunctioning equipment, or unsafe conditions and report them to the proper team.
- Use cleaning products and PPE correctly and follow all health, safety, and infection control rules.
- Interact with residents in a courteous and compassionate manner while respecting their privacy and dignity.
- Handle housekeeping tools and equipment properly and keep them in good working order.
- Support deep-cleaning and special sanitation work, including window cleaning, wall washing, and seasonal facility-wide cleaning projects.

Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior housekeeping experience in a healthcare or residential environment is preferred, though not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management are important.
- The candidate should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
- Ability to follow instructions is required.
- Applicants must be compassionate, respectful, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality when working around residents.
- The role requires the ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs., along with extended standing and walking.
- Manual dexterity is needed to complete housekeeping tasks.
- The candidate should be able to read and understand documents and information displayed on a computer screen.
- Effective communication with employees and other stakeholders is required.
