Role Summary
We are seeking a Ken Fix-It Technician for Raffles Dubai to handle preventive and corrective maintenance across guest rooms. The role focuses on keeping fixtures, equipment, and systems in top working order while meeting hotel quality, safety, and brand standards. This is a multi-disciplinary maintenance position covering civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repair work, with the goal of limiting disruption to operations and supporting guest satisfaction. The position reports to the Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities
Below are the main duties associated with the role:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on guest rooms according to the approved maintenance plan.
- Carry out maintenance tasks across civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and minor furniture repair areas.
- Handle guestroom repairs such as grouting, silicone replacement, paint touch-ups, door hardware adjustments, furniture refinishing, plumbing fixture repairs, electrical fault diagnosis, GRMS troubleshooting, curtain system repairs, FCU servicing, filter changes, actuator replacement, chilled water condensation flushing, and related work.
- Inspect rooms carefully during preventive maintenance visits and identify issues that need corrective action.
- Deliver high-quality workmanship with close attention to detail in all maintenance activities.
- Keep maintenance logs accurate and update work orders once jobs are completed.
- Ensure all tools, consumables, and spare parts are ready before starting work and maintain a clean work area afterwards.
- Escalate repeated faults, equipment breakdowns, or larger repairs that require specialist support.
- Follow all hotel procedures related to health, safety, environment, and engineering, while maintaining a professional presence in guest-facing areas.
- Assist other engineering colleagues and take on additional tasks assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Requirements
- A diploma or trade certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Air Conditioning, Building Maintenance, or a similar technical field.
- At least 3 years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance, ideally in a luxury hotel setting.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability to reflect the brand’s luxury standards in daily work and guest interactions.
- Commitment to building an inclusive atmosphere where people feel respected and valued.
- Solid understanding of preventive maintenance in guest rooms across civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry work.
- Practical familiarity with Guest Room Management Systems and hotel room equipment.

- Careful attention to detail and a strong focus on workmanship quality.
