About The Local Project
The Local Project is a fast-expanding design publication serving audiences across Australia, New Zealand, and North America. It showcases exceptional local design to a global community, with a strong emphasis on how thoughtful design shapes day-to-day experiences. Its content spans premium print, digital, editorial, video, and social channels, generating over 100,000,000 impressions each month across owned, operated, and third-party platforms. The business also launched The Local Production, a specialist full-service agency dedicated to creating content that helps brands stand out through strategic and creative work.
Role overview
This position is for a Junior Video Editor who can work within the publication’s visual style and help deliver polished video content to a high standard. You will collaborate with senior creative staff, producers, and account teams to turn footage into finished assets that meet both brand expectations and client feedback.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain The Local Project’s visual style and ensure edits meet the highest quality standard while working within time and resource limits.
- Coordinate with senior videographers and content creators, whether internal or freelance, to receive and manage video assets.
- Find suitable music, sound elements, visual effects, and other supporting resources to strengthen the final production.
- Work with account managers and producers to incorporate client feedback into revised edits.
- Organize, deliver, store, and archive raw footage as well as completed final files.
Experience and requirements
The role calls for 1 to 3 years of experience in a production setting, along with a solid grasp of the full production workflow. Candidates should be comfortable using DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, and After Effects. Experience in the architecture and design sectors is considered an advantage. The position also requires the ability to travel as needed.
