Role Overview
The IT Technician will provide hands-on L1 to L3 support across the organisation, helping keep devices, applications, and cloud services running reliably. The position plays a key part in day-to-day IT operations, with responsibility for Microsoft 365 and Azure support, secure user administration, and smooth onboarding/offboarding processes. By handling operational support, the role allows senior engineers to stay focused on strategic and infrastructure work.
What You'll Do
- Support employees and contractors across the data centre organisation with first- to third-line IT issues.
- Track, update, and close tickets in the IT service management system while keeping users informed on progress.
- Set up, configure, and maintain user devices such as laptops and mobile devices in a Windows-based environment.
- Resolve issues related to Microsoft 365 tools including Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Administer BOX file services for users across different regions.
- Support Azure cloud services and manage identities through Microsoft Entra ID.
- Deploy, configure, and monitor mobile device management tools such as Intune or similar platforms.
- Apply GDPR requirements and internal security policies to all IT tasks and support activities.
- Handle IT onboarding and offboarding for employees and contractors, including accounts, access rights, and equipment.
- Keep IT records accurate, including documentation, hardware inventory, and configuration details.
- Refer advanced technical problems to senior engineers or external vendors when needed.
- Work with network, security, and data centre operations teams to resolve shared issues.
- Contribute to IT initiatives such as application rollouts, system upgrades, and infrastructure enhancements.
- Help users improve their technology skills through training and practical guidance.
Requirements
- Prior experience in IT support, systems administration, or a comparable position covering Level 2 and Level 3 support.
- Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud services.
- Working understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, including user and group administration.
- Good command of Windows operating systems and system administration tasks.
- Experience using MDM platforms such as Intune for device enrolment, compliance, and remote control.
- Familiarity with service desk tools and ITIL-oriented support processes.
- Awareness of GDPR obligations and enterprise IT security standards.
- Proven ability to diagnose issues across hardware, software, and cloud-based systems.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical matters in a simple way.
- Fluency in both German and English, spoken and written, is required.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle several priorities.
- Flexibility to move between support levels from L1 to L3 as required by the business.
- Professional certifications such as Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator Associate, M365 Modern Desktop Administrator, ITIL, or CompTIA are considered a plus.
