Role overview

For a long-established, owner-managed IT service provider based in Heusenstamm near Frankfurt, we are looking for an IT System Administrator. The company has been supporting demanding customer environments for more than 30 years. This is not a pure support role: the position involves independent work on mature IT infrastructures, direct customer interaction, room to shape technical solutions, and short decision-making paths.

The team combines strong technical expertise with a genuine interest in technology, a practical and solution-focused mindset, and collaborative work at eye level. The role is based on-site with the team in Heusenstamm; working from home is not planned for this position.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and independently administer Windows Server-based IT infrastructures.
• Support and further develop Microsoft 365 environments for small and medium-sized business customers.
• Administer and improve virtualization platforms.
• Design, implement, and monitor backup strategies.
• Configure and maintain network components, including VLANs and firewalls.
• Investigate issues and resolve them sustainably in 2nd- and 3rd-level support, remotely and occasionally on site.
• Advise customers on infrastructure and security-related topics.
• Document systems thoroughly and help develop existing environments in a structured way.

Requirements

• Completed training as an IT specialist for system integration or an equivalent qualification.
• Solid practical experience in Windows Server administration, including Active Directory.
• Hands-on experience managing Microsoft 365 tenants in an SME setting.
• Experience administering virtualization environments.
• Experience implementing and monitoring backup concepts, for example with Veeam.
• Strong network administration skills, especially VLAN configuration.
• Firewall administration experience.
• Very strong German language skills, spoken and written, at least C2 level.
• Valid Class B driving license.
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style.
• Ability to work in a team and a professional manner.
• Desirable: familiarity with common virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Proxmox.
• Desirable: experience setting up and maintaining 3CX VoIP systems.
• Desirable: experience working with Linux servers.
• Desirable: business-fluent English skills.

Additional information

The role is based in Heusenstamm, Hesse, Germany. It is a full-time, permanent position starting immediately. The stated salary range is EUR 47,000 to EUR 55,000 per year.
