About the Organization
Klinic Community Health is a pro-choice community health centre serving people in Winnipeg and across Manitoba through primary care, education, and counselling. Guided by social justice and a commitment to healthy, engaged communities, the organization aims to deliver respectful, high-quality support to people of all ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, gender identities, and socio-economic situations.
Role Summary
The IT Support Technician, reporting to the Manager, Systems and Support, is responsible for keeping Klinic’s technology environment running smoothly and ensuring dependable access to clinical and administrative systems. The role provides first-line assistance to staff across clinical, administrative, and outreach functions, with support delivered both remotely and in person. Core duties include troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems, reducing disruptions, and helping maintain a positive user experience.
This position also handles the setup and rollout of user devices, access management, IT records, and asset tracking. It supports employee onboarding and offboarding by making sure team members receive the right equipment and permissions, and that access is removed when required.
Key Duties
Along with daily support work, the technician helps maintain the server room, keeps an eye on system health, and forwards more complex incidents to senior internal staff or outside vendors. The role involves working with external IT service providers and support partners when needed. Because this is a healthcare setting, the position requires careful attention to privacy, security, and compliance with internal IT policies.
Schedule and Working Conditions
This is a 1.0 FTE position with an 8-hour workday and 2,080 annual base hours. Scheduled shifts may include days, evenings, and weekends, and the role may occasionally require overnight or evening/weekend coverage. Some travel may also be needed for satellite sites or off-site events.
Qualifications and Equivalency
An equivalent blend of education and experience may be accepted. If applying under equivalency, candidates must explain in their cover letter how their background satisfies the required qualifications.
Compensation
The annual salary range for this role is $52,000 to $66,560.
Equity and Accessibility
Klinic is working to build a more equitable and diverse workforce at every level of the organization. Applications are encouraged from Indigenous people, Black people, people of colour, 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, and people living with disabilities. Candidates are invited to self-declare in their cover letter. Accommodations are available during the assessment and selection process upon request.
Application Notes
Only candidates chosen for an interview will be contacted.
