About the Role

A Brooklyn-based, AD100-recognized architecture and interior design studio is hiring an Interior Designer to support high-end residential and hospitality work. This position is suited to someone with 3 to 4 years of relevant experience who is highly detail-focused, has a refined design eye, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. The role spans the full project lifecycle, from early concept development through purchasing and on-site installation.

Key Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a proactive professional who works independently, maintains a high level of accuracy, and manages several priorities at once with strong organization and follow-through. A solid grasp of FF&E sourcing and specification, along with technical design documentation such as construction drawings, details, plans, and elevations, is important. The studio is looking for someone who can handle project coordination and procurement in a fast-moving in-person environment, while communicating clearly in visual, written, and verbal formats. A collaborative, considerate attitude is also valued. This role reports to and supports the Interior Design Lead.

Responsibilities

The Interior Designer will contribute to client presentations by sourcing furniture, fabrics, artwork, and finishes, as well as creating presentation materials in InDesign and Photoshop and assisting with CAD-based space planning. The role includes independently handling procurement tasks such as proforma and CFA requests, following up with vendors, and keeping budgets current. You will maintain relationships with vendors, dealers, and manufacturers, and help coordinate meeting notes, project updates, and order and delivery tracking. Participation in the installation phase is expected. Additional duties include collecting samples from showrooms and dealers, assembling specification booklets, and keeping the materials library organized and up to date.

Requirements

Applicants should have 3 to 4 years of comparable experience in interior design. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, Excel, and Word is required. Experience with Rhino and Enscape is helpful but not mandatory. A degree in Interior Design or Architecture is preferred.

Application Details

Candidates must email a resume or CV and a portfolio showcasing relevant design work. Email attachments must be kept under 10 MB. The email subject line should use the format: Interior Designer Application - FirstName LastName. Do not call or visit the office in person, and physical samples will not be reviewed. Applicants who do not meet the stated qualifications will not be considered.

Compensation and Work Arrangement

Salary will be aligned with experience. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
