Role overview
As an HR Advisor, you will support services across the Trust by providing practical and professional HR guidance to leaders and managers. The role covers a broad range of people matters, including sickness absence, recruitment, employee relations and workforce planning. You will be expected to help managers navigate sensitive conversations, ask the right questions and offer clear, well-founded advice.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of employee relations matters and guide managers to resolve cases promptly and in line with Trust policies and procedures.
- Assist managers with drafting letters and ensure meeting records are accurate, complete and kept on time.
- Support and attend absence, disciplinary and grievance hearings, following Trust policy and escalating more complex issues when needed.
- Work with HR Business Partners to keep cases moving efficiently.
- Coach managers through employment investigations and provide detailed advice on procedural and legal implications.
- Offer guidance to staff on the steps and processes involved in formal procedures.
- Help create inclusive working environments and contribute to the equality, diversity and inclusion programme by demonstrating Trust values and behaviours.
- Review monthly absence data and collaborate with HR Business Partners and operational teams to ensure absence and wellbeing meetings are completed and staff are supported under the Trust’s Absence Management Policy.
- Partner with HR Business Partners to support local action plans relating to performance improvement, ED&I and staff survey outcomes.
