The position sits at the crossroads of security engineering, architecture, and executive leadership, with responsibility for protecting key infrastructure, internal platforms, and software delivery systems.
You will set the direction for security operations, strengthen detection and response capabilities, and make sure security is built into everyday engineering and operational processes. The environment is collaborative, internationally distributed, and strongly oriented toward open source, automation, resilience, and continuous improvement. The role also includes participation in wider industry security efforts and open-source security initiatives.
Key responsibilities

- Lead investigations into sophisticated cyber threats and coordinate containment and remediation activities.
- Introduce and improve threat modeling, incident simulations, and tabletop exercises.
- Assess, choose, and roll out tools and platforms that improve security operations and overall defense.
- Define SecOps metrics and report security posture, performance, and risk trends to senior leaders.
- Partner with engineering and leadership teams to weave security practices into development and operational workflows.
- Share expertise externally through security publications, thought leadership, and threat intelligence collaboration.
Requirements
- Substantial leadership experience in Security Operations, including SOC architecture and incident response ownership.
- Demonstrated success handling advanced cyber threats, including highly capable adversaries or nation-state-level attacks.
- Strong technical depth in SOC design, logging, monitoring, network segmentation, and layered defense strategies.
- Practical expertise with Linux security and contemporary infrastructure environments.
- Hands-on experience automating incident response workflows and security playbooks.
- Working knowledge of frameworks such as NIST CSF and standard security practices used across the industry.
- Solid understanding of security tooling, threat intelligence platforms, and risk management approaches.
- Proven ability to manage, coach, and scale technical security teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present metrics and influence executive stakeholders.
- Strong academic background in Computer Science, STEM, or equivalent real-world experience.
- Advanced written and spoken English.
Perks and benefits
- Remote-first global working setup with distributed team collaboration.
- Competitive pay, including yearly performance reviews and a bonus arrangement.
- Learning and development allowance to support professional growth.
- Paid leave, parental leave, and access to employee assistance support.
- Opportunities to join global in-person engineering and security events.
- Travel support for company meetups and team sprints in international locations.
