Role overview
An Irish-headquartered international business with a strong expansion plan is looking for a Group Financial Controller to join its finance team. The organisation has a proven record of delivering on its objectives and is positioned for continued growth.
The business has a flat, collaborative culture where team members are trusted to take ownership and are expected to contribute directly. Titles are less important than impact, and the role offers direct interaction with senior executives as well as involvement in decisions that influence the wider business.
This position sits at the centre of the finance function and carries responsibility for group reporting, control, and governance. It is a practical, hands-on role that requires someone who is equally comfortable dealing with detail and thinking strategically.
Key responsibilities
- Own the group reporting cycle, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
- Prepare and assess consolidated financial statements for several entities and jurisdictions.
- Maintain robust controls, governance standards, and compliance across the group.
- Act as the main contact for external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process.
- Work closely with executive leaders to provide clear and timely financial analysis for decision-making.
- Improve reporting quality, finance systems, and internal processes to increase efficiency and visibility.
- Manage cashflow, working capital, and treasury-related matters across the group.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and longer-range planning.
- Lead, coach, and develop the finance team while promoting accountability and ownership.
- Support strategic initiatives such as expansion, M&A, and finance transformation projects.
Candidate profile
- Professionally qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, or CIMA credentials and strong technical knowledge.
- Background in a group or multi-entity environment, with international experience preferred.
- Solid experience in financial reporting and controls, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment.
- Comfortable engaging directly with executives in a flat organisational structure.
- Hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through.
- Commercially minded and able to turn financial data into practical business guidance.
- Strong interest in systems and process improvement, including finance tools and workflows.
- Collaborative style, low ego, and a clear focus on delivering results.
