Role overview
The organization is looking for a General Manager to take charge of overall operations, commercial performance, and the strategic course of the business or business unit. In this position, you will be expected to improve growth, operational efficiency, financial results, and organizational effectiveness while staying aligned with corporate goals, governance requirements, and customer expectations.
You will provide leadership across several core functions, including operations, finance, sales, marketing, human resources, and technology. The role calls for building and carrying out business plans, improving how the organization performs, and creating a high-performance environment that supports long-term growth.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement business strategies and operating plans that support organizational priorities.
- Oversee daily business activities to maintain efficiency, productivity, and strong service delivery.
- Improve revenue, profitability, and overall performance through thoughtful planning and execution.
- Manage financial planning, budgeting, cost control, and allocation of resources.
- Set up and track KPIs to measure performance and drive ongoing improvement.
- Guide and develop cross-functional teams while encouraging collaboration, ownership, and high standards.
- Maintain effective relationships with customers, partners, vendors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Make sure the business follows applicable laws, regulations, governance requirements, and internal procedures.
- Identify key risks and put mitigation measures in place to safeguard the organization.
- Lead transformation efforts, process improvements, innovation, and digital initiatives.
- Prepare reports, strategic plans, and performance updates for senior leadership and governance bodies.
- Track market changes, customer needs, competitor activity, and new opportunities to support future growth.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar field.
- Solid knowledge of business management, corporate strategy, finance, operations, and organizational leadership.
- Understanding of business planning, performance tracking, risk management, and governance principles.
- Strong commercial judgment with the ability to balance strategy and execution.
- Excellent skills in leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder handling.
- Strong analytical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving ability.
- Capability to lead change, transformation, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Comfort with business management systems, Microsoft Office, and data analysis tools.
- Professional certifications in management, finance, project management, strategy, or related areas are an added advantage.
