Stellenbeschreibung

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Fragrance Evaluator who is highly attentive to detail and experienced in fragrance assessment, formulation support, and quality control. This position involves working across fine, niche, oriental, and Arabic fragrance categories, including Bakhoor and Oud, and blending technical evaluation with creative input to help shape product development and market-ready fragrance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily scent evaluations for internal initiatives, private-label assignments, and upcoming product introductions.
  • Support the creation and improvement of traditional Arabic fragrance products such as Bakhoor and Oud Ma’amoul while keeping modern consumer preferences in mind.
  • Maintain precise records related to quality checks, regulatory adherence, and fragrance traceability, including FQQC, COA, and MSDS documentation.
  • Analyze fragrance batches in detail, conduct pre-production trials, and complete quality audits to confirm consistency and standard compliance.
  • Track fragrance movements, competitor product releases, and best-selling items across regional and global markets, and maintain a trend reference library for GCC/MENA, Europe, and North America.
  • Support performance testing on different substrates such as skin, blotter, and fabric in UAE climate conditions.
  • Evaluate raw material quality, assess substitution risks, and review stability while coordinating with compounding and quality control teams to preserve batch uniformity.
  • Lead controlled testing methods such as blind panels, wear trials, and climate-specific evaluations, then summarize findings for decision-making.
  • Deliver clear, practical feedback on scent composition, balance, longevity, and product differentiation.
  • Build and update olfactive benchmarks and sensory standards for ongoing use.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Fragrance & Flavor Technology, or a closely related discipline.
  • 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in fragrance evaluation within a perfume house or a brand involved in multiple market launches.
  • Demonstrated strength in fine fragrance assessment.
  • Well-developed sensory expertise, including a calibrated nose, strong descriptive vocabulary, and the ability to break down complex blends.
  • Good understanding of IFRA standards, EU/UAE/GCC regulatory requirements, and stability and performance testing approaches.
  • Strong familiarity with fine, niche, oriental, and Arabic fragrance families.
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards and EQM compliance.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Umm al-Quwain, United Arab Emirates. The role calls for both analytical rigor and creative judgment to support fragrance development across diverse product lines and markets.
