Facilities Technician

Role Overview

Freshpet is hiring a Facilities Technician for the night shift in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This position supports plant operations by keeping industrial equipment and building systems running safely and efficiently. The role is scheduled on a 12-hour shift with a 2-2-3 rotation, offering strong work-life balance.

Compensation

The base pay is $35.91 per hour, plus a $3.00 hourly shift differential, bringing total pay to $38.91 per hour.

What You’ll Do

You will handle daily plant maintenance, preventative maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and related work across industrial systems. You will also set up and adjust machinery to keep production running properly.

Technical Expectations

This role requires hands-on experience with boilers, ammonia systems, HVAC, and compressors, along with a solid grasp of industrial electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V, three-phase power, mechanical systems, and building utilities. You should be comfortable diagnosing complex equipment issues, using standard and specialized tools, and performing maintenance on motors, belts, drives, and related components. Familiarity with food safety standards, GMPs, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs is also important.

Working Conditions

The job requires access to the facility roof, use of extension ladders, man lifts, and scissor lifts, and exposure to changing weather conditions. Candidates must also be able to pass a respirator fit test.

Experience and Education

A minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial environment in a related role is required. A high school diploma or GED is required, while a technical college degree or vocational training in PLC/Electrical technology is preferred.
