Role overview
We are seeking a trade-qualified Refrigeration & Facilities Supervisor to join a remote village operations team in Karratha. The role is heavily hands-on and centres on keeping refrigeration and HVAC equipment compliant, reliable, and quick to recover when faults occur.
What you will do
- Carry out repairs, preventive upkeep, and troubleshooting on air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
- Attend urgent equipment failures and support scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Inspect accommodation rooms, kitchens, laundries, and plant rooms across the site.
- Help maintain village buildings and amenities through general repairs and non-specialist maintenance.
- Coordinate daily work and direct facilities or maintenance staff when needed.
- Make sure tasks are completed safely, in line with compliance requirements, and with limited disruption to room occupancy.
- Support waste handling, grounds upkeep, and overall presentation of the village when required.

About you
You should be a qualified Refrigeration Mechanic who is comfortable working on the tools and taking responsibility for equipment performance in an active operational setting.
Required licence, experience, and attributes
- Trade qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
- Current Refrigerant Handling Licence.
- Restricted electrical licence, or an equivalent credential.
- Background maintaining HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial, industrial, or remote environments.
- Ability to work alone and respond effectively to urgent maintenance issues.
- Strong commitment to safety and working knowledge of WHS requirements.
- Valid Australian driver’s licence.
- Full working rights in Australia; sponsorship is not available.
- Willingness to work day or night shifts when required.
Desirable experience
- Previous supervisory or step-up leadership experience.
- LF forklift licence.
- Experience in remote or resource-sector settings.

Qualifications and capabilities
The position calls for at least 5 years of experience in facilities management or refrigeration technician work, along with a relevant trade qualification or diploma in facilities management, refrigeration, or a related discipline. Working conditions
This is a remote role based in Karratha, Western Australia, with a 14:7 roster. Flexibility to travel to remote sites as required is important.
