Role overview
EY is hiring an External Security Vetting Senior Analyst to manage detailed personal security clearance work across several clearance tiers, including Baseline, Negative Vetting Level 1, Negative Vetting Level 2, and Positive Vetting. This position is part of a globally connected team and is intended for someone who enjoys working with complex, high-stakes processes.
The role is hybrid and may be based in Melbourne, Perth, Canberra, Brisbane, or Sydney. Flexible working arrangements and/or reduced hours may also be considered, depending on discussion.
Key responsibilities
You will assess different parts of clearance files, apply your vetting experience with strong accuracy, and help manage a process that requires careful oversight. The role also includes quality assurance responsibilities, with a focus on maintaining strict controls over Personal Security Files and providing well-reasoned, evidence-based recommendations on clearance decisions.
- Handle security clearance processing with precision and in line with the Protective Security Policy Framework and EY standards.
- Use electronic case management tools to support efficient case handling.
- Interview clearance subjects and gather relevant information.
- Provide informed advice on clearance outcomes while dealing with sensitive and complex vetting matters.
Skills and attributes
Success in this role calls for a sharp eye for detail, a strong commitment to quality, and the ability to stay on top of deadlines while balancing multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail and the ability to spot possible security concerns in large volumes of information.
- Strong quality assurance mindset and discipline in following the PSPF and documentation standards.
- Effective time management to meet milestones and service levels.
Preferred background
EY would ideally like candidates who already hold a minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance and can progress to Negative Vetting Level 2 if needed. A Certificate IV in Government (Personnel Security Vetting) is also preferred, along with practical vetting experience in government or similarly secure environments.
Benefits and working environment
EY offers career development support, flexible work policies, and a benefits package designed to support personal and professional wellbeing. Benefits mentioned include a yearly wellness incentive, up to 8 additional weeks of flex leave each year, and 26 weeks of gender-neutral paid parental leave.
The company also emphasises a diverse, inclusive culture and notes that it is recognised as the #1 WORK180 Endorsed Employer in the Top 101 Employers for Women 2026.
