Stellenbeschreibung
About the company
The organization is part of a large, diversified Indian business group with interests in logistics and utilities, built around large-scale infrastructure and operations managed to global standards. Its power subsidiary is India’s biggest private thermal power generator, with a generation portfolio spread across several states and an additional solar project in Gujarat.
Role summary
This position is centered on running and supervising power plant systems such as the boiler, turbine, generator, BOP, switchyard, and transformer areas. The incumbent will help keep equipment operating efficiently, carry out start-up and shutdown activities, manage FGD operations, support energy-saving initiatives, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety norms.
Key responsibilities
The engineer will watch over critical plant systems from the control room or lead desk, ensure stable operation, and react quickly when operating values move away from target levels. The role also involves routine equipment changeovers, emergency drive trials, and support during abnormal situations affecting BTG, switchyard, or grid performance.
Safe isolation and restoration of equipment must be carried out as needed, along with accurate upkeep of operational logbooks. The job includes running and monitoring FGD systems, tracking chemistry and process parameters, and helping the plant meet emission and compliance requirements.
In addition, the role requires active support for energy conservation by focusing on factors such as SOC, APC, DM water usage, and heat rate. The engineer must follow IMS, AWMS, DISHA, CHETNA, PTW, and SOP requirements, report plant defects promptly to the shift in charge, and contribute to digitization, automation, and continuous process improvement.
Safety and compliance
Personnel and equipment safety are critical parts of this role. The engineer is expected to maintain safe working practices, follow permit controls, and ensure operational activities remain aligned with internal governance and environmental standards.
Qualifications and experience
A Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution is required. Candidates should bring at least 3 years of experience in power plant operations, preferably within thermal power generation.
Stakeholders
The primary internal interface for this position is the maintenance engineering team. There are no external stakeholder requirements listed.
