Role Overview

Tommy Bahama is hiring a Dishwasher for its North Port-Sarasota Area restaurant. This position supports a high-energy, hospitality-driven environment where the focus is on cleanliness, smooth kitchen operations, and delivering a great guest experience rooted in the brand’s island-inspired style.

As part of the team, you will help maintain the dish area, care for kitchenware and equipment, and contribute to a safe and sanitary back-of-house operation. The role also involves working in a collaborative setting and stepping in wherever needed to support restaurant operations.

Key Duties

• Contribute positively to a team-oriented kitchen environment and support overall culinary success through dependable, guest-focused work.
• Keep tableware, cookware, and kitchen equipment thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
• Maintain a tidy, organized dishroom and ensure equipment is properly arranged and cared for.
• Help uphold kitchen safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards according to the required agency guidelines.

Experience and Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a busy culinary or hospitality setting.
• A valid food handler’s card, along with any other certification required by applicable federal, state, or local regulations.
• Working knowledge of restaurant operations, including storage and rotation of food service items and proper cleaning, sanitizing, and stocking of dishes, glassware, cutlery, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to carry out general housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to take on additional duties as needed to help the business run smoothly.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift or move up to about 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.
• Ability to remain standing for the full shift.
• Comfort using common kitchen and service tools and equipment such as a hand cart, blenders, knives, slicers, wine keys, and other tools referenced in training materials.
• Availability for shifts scheduled according to business needs.
