About the Role

An opportunity is available for a Director of Learning & Development to join Jumeirah Burj Al Arab. This position will play a central role in preparing the property for its restoration journey and eventual relaunch, ensuring the team is equipped with the mindset, behaviours, and capability needed to support an iconic luxury destination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape and direct the Learning & Development agenda for Jumeirah Burj Al Arab during a critical restoration period, helping build the culture, skills, and service mindset needed for the hotel’s relaunch.
  • Work in close alignment with the Director of HR and senior leaders to convert the restoration plan, readiness milestones, and brand direction into a practical people-development strategy.
  • Oversee large-scale onboarding, re-induction, and colleague integration, ensuring every team member understands the Burj Al Arab heritage, service values, rituals, and premium guest experience expectations.
  • Equip leaders and colleagues with the confidence, habits, and operational strengths required to deliver refined, intuitive, and highly personalised service consistently.
  • Strengthen a culture of excellence across departments by linking learning activity to service quality, colleague engagement, operational readiness, guest satisfaction, and the successful reopening of the property.
  • Develop strong succession pipelines and growth pathways through career planning and high-potential programmes that support business continuity, internal movement, and leadership depth before, during, and after restoration.
  • Introduce innovative learning approaches, digital tools, current best practices, and measurable insights to improve capability, colleague experience, service consistency, and business results throughout the transformation period.

Candidate Profile

  • At least 10 years of progressive Learning & Development experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership position within luxury hospitality.
  • Proven ability to design and implement leadership development, capability-building, and succession planning programmes that improve organisational performance and prepare future leaders.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability, with experience working alongside senior leaders to support change, develop talent, and drive cultural transformation.
