Role Overview
This position is for a Day Technician focused on finishing operations in Abu Dhabi. The role supports plant maintenance activities with an emphasis on safe execution, equipment reliability, and reducing downtime.
Key Duties
- Carry out overhauling and maintenance work for the Finishing Section across the plant, maintaining strong quality standards and safe working practices.
- Complete planned corrective maintenance and major equipment repairs to support production efficiency and limit maintenance-related stoppages.
- Support troubleshooting work during shutdowns of mechanical equipment and help identify the root cause so corrective action can be taken.
- Address mechanical maintenance issues during plant shutdowns and escalate any equipment irregularities so they can be planned for repair.
- Verify that required tools and tackles are available before work begins.
- Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and safety rules during maintenance tasks in the Finishing Section.
- Assist the Senior Technician, Workshop Finishing, with technical tasks to keep equipment maintenance running smoothly during shutdowns.
- Step into the Senior Technician role when needed or whenever required by the section.
- Apply established mechanical maintenance standards across all Workshop Finishing equipment.
- Adhere to relevant health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures and policies in all maintenance work.
Experience and Technical Requirements
The role calls for a candidate with 3+ years of experience. A strong background in mechanical maintenance within a steel plant is required, along with the ability to work on technician/fitter level responsibilities.
Education
Applicants should hold an I.T.I. qualification in Mechanical Fitter trade.

JPC reference: 6070. Location: Abu Dhabi. The job is a day-shift role in a plant maintenance environment. Candidates should be comfortable supporting shutdown activities and working to maintain production continuity.
