Stellenbeschreibung
Role overview
This is a permanent, remote-based opportunity for a technically strong Data Analyst Assessor to support gateway readiness and carry out end-point assessments for apprentices completing Level 3 and Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeships. The position sits within an education-focused end-point assessment organisation and offers flexible home-based working.
What the role involves
In this independent assessor position, you will review apprentice evidence against the full apprenticeship standard, run interviews, assess submitted work, and apply grading criteria while providing clear, constructive feedback. A key part of the job is evaluating the quality of analysis itself, including whether methods are appropriate, whether statistical techniques have been used correctly, and whether conclusions are supported by the data.
Alongside assessment work, you will also be given CPD time and the chance to contribute to the development of EPA products and assessment resources, using your technical background to help shape the offer.
Technical background needed
The role requires at least three years of practical experience as a data analyst, with strong depth in statistical methods such as descriptive and inferential statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, probability distributions, sampling, and forecasting. You must be confident coding in SQL and Python, including working with data analysis libraries such as pandas and NumPy, as well as statistical packages. This is a hands-on coding role rather than a tool-awareness role.
A degree in statistics, mathematics, data science, or another closely related quantitative subject is preferred, although equivalent professional experience will also be considered. You should also be comfortable using CRM platforms and a wide range of analytical tools and technologies.
Additional expectations
Strong written and verbal communication is important, along with the ability to produce polished reports and deliver accurate, helpful feedback. You should be comfortable working within processes, policies, and regulatory requirements, and you will need to handle both internal and external stakeholders professionally. Fairness, neutrality, and impartial judgement are essential throughout the role.
No previous apprenticeship background is required, but you must be prepared to build your understanding of this area. As part of the application, candidates should include a short example of an analysis where a specific statistical method was used, such as regression or a hypothesis test, and explain what the result showed.
Hiring process note
The employer is seeking to move quickly, and remote interviews are taking place immediately for suitably matched candidates.
