Cost Control Engineer - High Rise Building

Role Overview

ABU ALNAGA CONTRACTING is looking for a skilled Cost Controller to support its expanding construction operations in Dubai. In this role, you will be responsible for keeping project finances under control, monitoring spending, and helping ensure that high-rise building projects remain financially efficient from start to finish.

Core Duties

• Keep a close watch on project expenditure and manage cost control activities throughout the full construction cycle.
• Build, update, and maintain project budgets, cash flow projections, and cost tracking reports.
• Compare actual spending with approved budgets and flag any cost deviations.
• Examine subcontractor payments, purchase orders, invoices, and material expenses for accuracy.
• Work closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, procurement staff, and finance teams to ensure costs are assigned correctly.
• Assist with variation and change order reviews by estimating their financial effect on the project.
• Prepare monthly cost performance summaries and dashboard reports for management.
• Look for practical cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
• Ensure all work follows company financial procedures and project contract obligations.

Required Background

• A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Finance, or a similar discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience working as a Cost Controller on high-rise building construction projects.
• Solid knowledge of construction budgeting, forecasting, costing, and financial reporting.
• Hands-on experience with BOQs, progress billing, subcontractor coordination, and project cost monitoring.
• Good command of Microsoft Excel and construction ERP platforms.
• Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and problem-solving ability.
• Comfortable working in a busy construction setting and managing several priorities at once.

Preferred Experience
