Role overview
This opportunity is with a Melbourne-based commercial and industrial builder known for delivering high-quality industrial projects. The business has a strong project pipeline and is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to support the commercial and contractual delivery of work valued at up to $30 million.
You will work alongside the Project Manager and site team, helping drive projects from start to finish with a focus on cost control, contract administration, procurement, and documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Handle head contractor and subcontractor agreements.
- Draft scopes of work, tender documents, and procurement schedules.
- Assess subcontractor quotes and issue trade packages.
- Track budgets, forecasts, and project cost reporting.
- Prepare and process progress claims, variations, and payment schedules.
- Maintain RFIs, contract correspondence, and project records.
- Support project programming and procurement tasks.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Managers, and consultants to keep delivery on time and within budget.
- Identify, monitor, and help manage contractual risks and opportunities throughout the project.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant brings 3+ years of experience as a Contract Administrator in commercial, industrial, or large-scale commercial construction. Exposure to projects in the $10 million to $30 million range is highly valued.
You should have a solid grasp of construction contracts and project financial management, along with hands-on experience in tender preparation, subcontractor procurement, and pricing. Strong negotiation skills, stakeholder management ability, attention to detail, and good organisation are also important.
Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a closely related field are preferred.
