About the Role
V2X Inc is seeking a skilled Computer Service Technician for their Doha, Qatar location. This role involves providing essential technical support for information systems hardware and software within a service center environment. The technician will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues, communicating solutions clearly to users, and performing technical inspections and maintenance on Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE). The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining system functionality.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical maintenance and service for all ADPE equipment.
- Evaluate equipment to identify malfunctions and deficiencies.
- Execute baseline procedures and conduct hardware replacements.
- Collaborate with the Systems Support Specialist, Lead (SSSL) to assess the serviceability of various computer components including workstations, monitors, printers, and servers.
- Conduct final technical inspections and ensure accurate status updates in the work order tracking system.
- Manage monthly UBL inventories and assist with cyclical property inventories.
- Undertake other assigned duties and tasks as required.
Qualifications
- A college degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Three years of relevant experience can substitute for one year of education if a degree is mandatory.
- CompTIA A+ or a comparable certification is advantageous.
- A minimum of 3 years of related professional experience is necessary.
- Proficiency in communicating technical information effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Possess advanced skills in PC technical support.
- Demonstrate strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Must be adept at using the latest version of Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Maximo work order systems or similar platforms is required.
- English competency levels: Reading ability – level 3, Speaking ability – level 3, Writing ability – level 3.
Working Environment
The role is primarily based in an administrative work center. However, occasional outdoor work may be required, potentially involving exposure to extreme temperatures. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protection may be necessary in certain areas. The standard work week is 48 hours, with the possibility of overtime.
