Role Summary
This position is for an experienced MLRO and Compliance Officer to oversee and protect the regulatory standing of a Company Service Provider in the UAE. The role carries full ownership of the AML/CFT framework and serves as the main point of contact with the ADGM Registration Authority. It is suited to a senior compliance professional who can provide visible leadership, maintain high regulatory standards, and support the administration of a varied entity portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the AML/CFT framework, including annual updates to the Business Risk Assessment and the operation of CDD/EDD controls as well as sanctions and PEP screening across UN, OFAC, EU, and UAE lists.
- Act as the reporting officer for internal suspicion escalation and formal STR/SAR submissions to the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit.
- Oversee all CSP licence obligations, including client money controls, statutory submissions, UBO record maintenance, and the requirement to retrieve records within two business days.
- Handle all communication with the ADGM Registration Authority, including regulatory notices and preparation for compliance reviews.
- Run the compliance monitoring programme, deliver AML training to staff, and advise the Board on risk issues and possible breaches.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of focused AML and regulatory compliance experience, preferably in ADGM or another highly regulated jurisdiction.
- Professional AML/compliance credentials such as ACAMS or ICA are required.
- Strong understanding of UAE FIU reporting processes and DNFBP regulatory requirements.
- A proven fit-and-proper record with the ability to demonstrate hands-on oversight.
Preferred Profile
- Prior work with dual-regulated entities covering both FSRA and CSP obligations.
- Existing experience with ADGM Registration Authority audits or established working relationships with the authority.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Law, Finance, or Business Administration.
