Opportunity Overview
This Toronto-based, on-site opening is for a Communications Specialist to join a financial services organization with a focus on transforming complex investment and market information into clear, engaging content. The role sits within a collaborative creative environment where curiosity, teamwork and ownership are valued.
In this position, you will work closely with product leaders, investment experts and compliance partners to shape messages used in presentations, website copy, sales collateral and commentary updates. The role suits someone who enjoys a varied workload, moves comfortably in a fast-paced setting and likes producing content that helps audiences make informed decisions.
Role Details
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on-site
Language: Strong written and spoken English is required
Employment: Permanent role with a 6-month probationary period
Background checks: Employment verification and reference checks may be part of the hiring process
Key Responsibilities
You will create audience-appropriate communications that explain financial topics in both plain language and advisor-focused language. A core part of the job is turning raw data and investment insight into visual and written stories that are easy to understand.
You will also work with internal stakeholders to develop presentations, website content, sales materials and commentary pieces. Alongside content creation, you will contribute to editing and copy review so that all materials remain accurate, polished and compliant.
The position includes handling day-to-day ad hoc requests, often producing quick-turn items such as PDFs, slide decks or short-form communications. You will also be expected to bring fresh ideas for adapting and reworking content across different channels and formats.
What the Workplace Offers
The organization promotes a culture centered on creativity, balance and ongoing learning. You will have the chance to work with experienced financial professionals who can help expand your knowledge and support your development.
The team values trust, ownership and the freedom to test new ideas. In addition, the employer highlights strong compensation practices, comprehensive benefits and a long-term approach to career growth.
Required Background
Applicants should have at least 3 years of experience in communications, financial writing or a closely related area. Strong writing, editing and data-visualization skills are important, especially when simplifying financial information for different audiences.
Experience with MS Office is required, and familiarity with Adobe tools or website content management systems is also useful. A post-secondary background in Communications, English, Finance or a related discipline is preferred.
Candidates should be comfortable balancing several priorities at once, adapting quickly when needs change and collaborating effectively across teams. A strong eye for detail and advanced copyediting ability are essential. Experience in financial services, journalism or technical writing is considered an advantage, and CSC coursework is beneficial.
Additional Information
This role is intended for a professional communicator who can work independently while contributing to a close-knit team. The position is built for someone who is energized by variety, can respond quickly to changing requests and enjoys making complex information accessible.
