Role Overview

Leylaty Group is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Commis Pastry to support the culinary team in producing well-made pastries, desserts, and baked items. This position focuses on helping with preparation, production, and plating while upholding strong standards of cleanliness, food safety, and overall quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with making pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and other baked items by following standard recipes.
  • Set up and prepare ingredients in advance for day-to-day kitchen service.
  • Support the Pastry Chef with routine kitchen tasks and production planning.
  • Maintain consistent quality and visual presentation of finished products.
  • Keep the pastry section, tools, equipment, and work areas clean and well arranged.
  • Adhere to food hygiene, safety, and HACCP requirements at all times.
  • Store raw materials and finished products correctly, following FIFO principles.
  • Use ingredients efficiently and help reduce avoidable waste.
  • Assist with stock handling, inventory checks, rotation, and delivery receiving when needed.
  • Coordinate smoothly with other kitchen staff to keep operations running efficiently.
  • Carry out additional tasks assigned by the Pastry Chef or kitchen leadership.

Qualifications

  • A certificate or diploma in Culinary Arts or Pastry is preferred.
  • Prior experience of 1 to 2 years in a pastry shop, bakery, or similar environment is an advantage.
