The role
We’re looking for a full-time Café Supervisor to join the team at The Sands in Browns Bay. In this position, you’ll help deliver our purpose of reimagining retirement and aged care living by overseeing the on-site café and creating a positive experience for residents, visitors, and staff.
Key duties
- Lead the café’s daily operations and keep the environment warm, efficient, and well-organised.
- Make sure residents, visitors, and team members receive consistently high-quality service.
- Apply and maintain all required food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards.
- Maintain a current manager’s certificate.
- Work closely with the kitchen and wider village teams to provide a strong standard of food, beverage, and hospitality service.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Previous supervisory experience in hospitality, a café, or customer service.
- Well-developed leadership and people management capability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a mindset grounded in inclusion, respect, and teamwork.
- Practical knowledge of food safety and health and safety requirements in a café, hospitality, or aged care environment.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organised, and resolve issues in a busy setting.
- A sharp eye for detail and a genuine commitment to excellent service.
- Full working rights in New Zealand are required for all applicants.
