The Role

In the Business Development Manager position, you will serve as the main contact for Renown Lending’s broker and referral partner network. Your focus will be on expanding the asset-backed lending portfolio by nurturing existing relationships and building new ones, while making sure each deal is evaluated, structured, and progressed with discipline and pace.

You will work closely with the credit and operations teams to move opportunities from first enquiry through to settlement, taking ownership of the process end to end and acting as the link between brokers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Look after and expand a portfolio of active broker and referral partner relationships within your area.
• Review, qualify, and assess new deal enquiries against Renown Lending’s credit appetite and asset-backed lending criteria.
• Draft indicative terms, credit papers, and deal summaries for internal consideration.
• Support brokers through the full transaction journey from LOI to settlement, keeping communication clear and timeframes realistic.
• Identify and pursue fresh broker and referral opportunities through proactive business development.
• Partner with the credit team to structure transactions that are commercially viable and appropriately secured.
• Keep pipeline information accurate and provide regular reporting on deal activity and relationship performance.
• Represent Renown Lending professionally at industry events and broker meetings.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring experience in asset-backed lending, commercial finance, or another credit/origination role with similar responsibilities. You should either have an established broker network or the ability to build one quickly through strong market presence and credibility.

A solid grasp of security structures, LVR analysis, and credit fundamentals in an asset-backed lending environment is important. You’ll need a commercial mindset, the confidence to assess opportunities quickly, and the ability to give brokers clear and direct feedback.

Strong communication and relationship-management skills are essential. The role also requires someone who can handle several transactions at once without compromising accuracy, and who is self-driven and comfortable working in a lean setting where initiative matters.
