Role overview
Edwards Lifesciences is looking for an Associate Assembler to support the manufacture of medical devices that help improve patient outcomes worldwide. In this role, you will work within sewing, assembly, delivery, and distribution operations, using careful workmanship and a mindset of continuous improvement to help convert innovative designs into finished products.
The position involves assembling components into completed devices while following regulatory expectations and internal company standards. You will be part of a manufacturing environment where precision, accountability, and teamwork are essential.
Working schedule
This is an evening shift role with hours from Monday to Thursday, 4:30pm to 3:00am. On Thursday, the shift finishes at 2:00am.
Key duties
- Operate tools and equipment to assemble medical devices accurately and efficiently at each workstation, working across multiple tasks as needed.
- Follow work orders and technical drawings, use computer systems to access drawings, and record parts status information.
- Carry out inventory checks at the start of the day and whenever moving to the next work order.
- Work in line with approved instructions and SOPs, including documenting traceable information in device history records and entering data into manufacturing systems where required.
- Perform line clearance by cleaning and sanitizing stations at shift start and during changeovers, and make sure the necessary tools and components are available before assembly begins.
- Inspect your own work, including visual checks with magnification where needed, review colleagues’ output in sequence, and share constructive feedback.
- Escalate process issues or equipment performance concerns to a supervisor for review and correction.
- Arrive on time, maintain regular attendance, and be prepared to complete a full 8-hour shift or longer when required.
- Handle general housekeeping tasks within the work area.
What the employer is looking for
Applicants should have a Leaving Certificate or an equivalent qualification, preferably. The role also calls for strong communication skills, the ability to read, understand, and speak English, and a basic grasp of numerical functions.
You should be comfortable working in a clean-room medical device manufacturing setting and be able to follow detailed instructions with minimal supervision. The employer also values the ability to learn and retain training material, work effectively within a team, exchange feedback with colleagues, and remain flexible for overtime when production needs require it.
All employees must follow company rules and requirements, including pandemic protocols and Environmental Health & Safety standards, and take appropriate steps to prevent injury, pollution, and harm to the environment within their area of responsibility.
Additional requirements
This position requires adherence to all relevant environmental, health, safety, and quality guidelines associated with clean-room manufacturing.
